The Applied Economics Research Centre (AERC) University oi Karachi invites applications for the following research and administrative positions. The positions also carry such other allowances/honoraria as are admissible under the rules of the AERC / University of Karachi. The minimum qualifications and work experience requirements for each position are specified below:RESEARCH PROFESSOR: BPS-21
Eiigibiiity Criteria:Ph.D. from an HEC recognized institution in the relevant field. 15 years teaching/research experience in HEC recognized University or a post-graduate institution or professional experience in a national or international organization. The applicant must have 15 research publications in internationally abstracted journals recognized by the HEC/BASR, University of Karachi.
SENIOR RESEARCH ECONOMIST / ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR: BPS-20
Eligibility Criteria:Ph.D. in relevant field from the REC recognized university/institution. 10 years teaching/research experience in an HEC recognized university or a post-graduate institution of professional experience in the relevant field in a national or international organization. The applicant must have 10 research publications ir internationally abstracted journals recognized by the HEC/BASR, University of Karachi.
RESEARCH ECONOMIST / ASSISTANT PROFESSOR: SPS-19
Eligibility Criteria:Ph.D. in the subject from an HEC recognized university/institution. l\lo experience is required. OR Master's degree (Foreign University) OR MAS with 5 years teaching/research experience OR M.Phil. or equivalent degree awarded after 18 years oi education as determined by HEC in the subject from an HEC recognized university! institution with 4 years teaching/research or professional experience in a recognized university or a Dost-graduate institution in a national or international institution.
STAFF ECONOMIST / LECTURER: BPS-18
Eligibility Criteria:First class Masters degree 08 equivalent degree awarded after 16 years of education in the subject from an HEC recognized university/institution without a 3rd division in the academic career. Condition of 3rd division shall not be applicable in the qualification of appointment as lecturer in university or degree awarding institutions provided that the candidate holds a higher degree viz. M.Phil./Ph.D. or equivalent degree with not more than one 3rd division in entire academic career. Furthermore, the candidate with second division in Masters but holding higher degree i.e., M.Phil./Phi). or equivalent with eighteen years of education wiil be considered.
NOTE:
Ail those applying for the post of Research Economist/Assistant professor or Staff Economist/Lecturer (excluding in-service regular teachers of the University of Karachi and candidates holding Ph.D degree in the subject) are required to appear in NTS test.
RESEARCH ASSISTANT: BPS-17
Eligibility Criteria:M.A./M.Sc. in Economics with 1st division from an HEC recognized university/institution.
MANAGER ADMINISTRATION: BPS-18
Eligibility Criteria:Masters degree with 5 years experience in establishment and administrative matters in any Govt./Semi-Govt. Organization in Grade 16 and above. Must be well-versed in English language and computer literate with proficiency in M.S. Office.
MANAGER PUBLICATIONS: BPS-18
Eligibility Criteria:Master's degree with 5 years practical experience in the field of Publication/Printing in reputed firm or any Govt./Semi-Govt. Organization. Must be well-versed in English language and computer literate with proficiency in M.S. Office.
MANAGER DATA PROCESSING: BPS-18 (IT SPEClALlST)
Eligibility Criteria:MCS from an HEC recognized University/Institution. Atleast 8 years experience as Manager IT or head of Computer/IT Department preferably in educational institution. Good working experience in managing and administering of IT infrastructure, website, and software packages preferable statistical/Econometrics o ware.
GRADUATE PROGRAMME OFFICER: BPS-17
Eligibility Criteria:Master's degree with 3 years experience or Graduate with 10 years experience in running an M.Phil./Ph.D.). prograrnme in Economics in a Public/Private sector University.
PERSONAL ASSISTANT (P.A) TO DIRECTOR: BPS-17
Eligibility Criteria:Graduate with 10 years experience as Stenographer/PA in Govt. /Semi-Govt. or any educational institution. Must possess minimum Short~hand/Typing speed of 120/60 w.p.m. respectively. Must be well-versed in English language and computer literate with proficiency in M.S. Office.
